It's when it is acceptable to arm yourself with cocktails and coffee, while you hunker down with pancakes, burgers, and so many eggs. Oh yes, one of Austin’s best dim sum destinations is back in a new address as of March, with the same classics — dumplings, bao, turnip cakes, and much more. It’s fair to expect long waits for weekend brunch services. Weekend dim sum hours are from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. There are indoor dine-in services.

The Greek restaurant in the Highland Park West expanded with weekend brunch in January. Expect Greek daytime dishes like kayanas (tomato-feta-mint scrambled eggs) on bruschetta; fried eggs with potatoes, sausage, and a tomato sauce, and omelets. Brunch hours are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. There are indoor and outdoor dine-in services.

The new Cherrywood bar is teaming up with its on-site trucks for Sunday brunch as of April. This means morning dishes from La Santa Barbacha with barbacoa items plus eggs; coffee and espresso from Fleet Coffee, plus bloody marys, micheladas, and bloody marias for $6 and a live DJ set. Its Sunday brunch hours are from noon to 4 p.m. There are indoor and outdoor dine-in areas.

The New York Chinese restaurant import in downtown Austin added dim sum to its weekend services in March. The brunch menu includes lots of dumplings and scallion pancakes, Dim sum is available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. There are indoor and outdoor dine-in services.

The Zilker modern Chinese restaurant added weekend brunch to its lineup in April. This means Chinese American-ish dishes such as panko-fried chicken on mochi waffles; sesame seed bagels with Sichuan gravlax and chile crisp-cream cheese; and a take on shrimp and grits with congee instead. Brunch hours are from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. There are indoor and outdoor dine-in services.

Since it opened in March, the truck offers up the classics, like bacon-egg-cheese, sausage-egg-cheese, egg-cheese, and a double-version, all on rolls.
