Gordon Ramsay, the shouty celebrity chef known for TV shows Hell’s Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares, is about to open his second Boston restaurant. Gordon Ramsay Burger will start slinging butter-basted burgers and milkshakes in the Canopy by Hilton hotel later this year (111 North Street).

Ramsay opened his first Boston restaurant, Ramsay’s Kitchen, in the Mandarin Oriental in Back Bay this past January with a menu of beef Wellington, jumbo lump crab cakes, and sticky toffee pudding.

The menu at Gordon Ramsay Burger sticks to cheffed-up versions of classic American food, like burgers, onion rings, and fries. There are variations between menus at each location, but they follow the same playbook. For example, a “Hell’s Kitchen Burger” at the Chicago location tops a burger patty with mozzarella, roasted jalapeño, avocado, and roasted tomato. In Las Vegas, the same burger subs asadero cheese for the mozzarella and adds jalapeño aïoli to the stack.

A towering blue cheese burger at the Chicago location combines a burger patty with English Stilton blue cheese; caramelized onions; a big, crispy onion ring; frisée; blue cheese dressing; bibb lettuce; and spicy aioli. Meanwhile, the blue cheese burger at the Las Vegas location includes blue cheese, manchego cheese, figgy jam, arugula, cider vinegar reduction, and spicy mayo.

Plans for Gordon Ramsay Burger Boston include a second level roof deck with expansive views of Downtown, the West End, the North End, and the Rose Kennedy Greenway, reports WCVB.com.

The first Gordon Ramsay Burger opened in the Las Vegas Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in December 2012 (back then it was still a vowel-challenged burger joint known as Gordon Ramsay BurGR). In Vegas, the Hell’s Kitchen Burger is ranked among the best burgers in town.

The second U.S. outpost opened in downtown Chicago in December 2021. There’s a third restaurant inside iconic London department store Harrods.

Ramsay plans to hire Boston residents for the general manager and executive chef positions, according to the Boston Globe.
