Road Trip Wonderland Buc-ee’s Sevierville, Tennessee Location Will Be the World’s Largest Convenience Store

The Volunteer State’s Sevierville store’s size will crush the square footage of the Texas mega-sized staple’s largest location

Sorry, Texas, some things are bigger in Tennessee; namely, the world’s largest convenience store, the future beloved beaver-themed Buc-ee’s Family Travel Center that’s planned for Sevierville.

The new Sevier County, Tennessee location will be more than 74,000-square-feet, located off Interstate 40 at exit 407, a “gateway” for millions of visitors headed to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Before, the largest Buc-ee’s was located in New Braunfels, Texas, and spanned 68,000-square-feet of walls and counters lined with the chain’s popular beef jerky, fudge, and its wildly popular beaver nuggets (a sweet, crunchy, and caramelly corn snack). The Tennessee location will have more of the same — so prepare with Eater Houston’s handy guide here ahead of time here.

Founded in 1982 in Lake Jackson, Texas by Arch “Beaver” Aplin and Don Wasket, the duo likely had no idea their beaver-themed convenience store would become a beloved super-chain. Buc-ee’s has since expanded its friendly beaver logo and clever billboards outside the Texas state lines where it borders the Lone Star states busiest highways with crowd favorite clean bathrooms (they say they’re cleaned every hour).

The Sevierville, Tennessee location is expected to open later this year.
